The San Francisco 49ers stayed unbeaten at 5-0 on Sunday with a 32-29 win over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. Seattle dropped to 3-2. [1]

Eddy Pineiro's 43-yard field goal with 1:56 remaining decided it, according to The Associated Press. The win was a measure of payback for the 49ers, who lost twice to Seattle late last season, including a 41-6 defeat in the divisional round of the playoffs, the AP reported. [2]

Quarterback Brock Purdy finished 19 of 29 for 189 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The AP said most of that production came in the fourth quarter. Mike Evans caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, and Christian McCaffrey rushed 11 times for 68 yards and a score. [1][2]

For Seattle, Sam Darnold completed 18 of 29 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had five catches for 102 yards and a touchdown, and Emanuel Wilson ran for 61 yards and a score on 20 carries. Byron Murphy II had two sacks. [1]

San Francisco trailed 26-21 late in the third quarter, the AP reported. Purdy and Evans connected four times for 75 yards on the next drive, including a 28-yard completion on second-and-21 after an intentional grounding penalty. Purdy then threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks, and Evans caught a 2-point conversion for a 29-26 lead. Darnold led Seattle to a tying field goal before Pineiro's kick. [2]

Seattle had a final chance. Smith-Njigba dropped a third-down pass at the San Francisco 25, and Cooper Kupp was stopped a yard short of the first down on fourth down by Malik Mustapha, according to the AP. "We had an opportunity to go down there and win the game," Smith-Njigba said. [2]

The game had a season-high seven combined turnovers, the AP reported. San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected in the second quarter after head-butting Seattle's Ernest Jones IV following a late hit on Darnold, the AP said. Samuel injured a hamstring on a fumble and did not return, according to the AP. [2]

San Francisco hosts Washington on Monday, Oct. 19. Seattle visits Denver on Thursday night. [2]
