Saints running back Travis Etienne Jr. to miss time with hamstring injury

New Orleans Saints coach Kellen Moore said running back Travis Etienne Jr. will miss time with a hamstring injury, according to ESPN and a post on X by NFL reporter Adam Schefter. [1][2]

Moore did not give a timetable for Etienne's return. Moore also did not say whether the Saints would move Etienne to injured reserve. [2]

Etienne went to the locker room midway through the third quarter of the Saints' 35-27 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and did not come back, ESPN reported. Etienne grabbed at the left hamstring shortly before going out of bounds on a 16-yard run, then grabbed at the leg again on the ground. Etienne got up without help and limped to the opposite sideline before entering the injury tent. [2]

Etienne had been on the injury report before the game with a hamstring issue but practiced fully on Friday. Moore said the new injury was to the same leg that had bothered Etienne during the week, ESPN reported. [2]

Before leaving, Etienne had a season-high 19 carries for 57 yards. Alvin Kamara had six carries and Kendre Miller had four after Etienne went out. [2]

ESPN reported that Kamara, Miller and rookie CJ Donaldson will likely all be used in the Saints' Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.
