New York led 2-1 after Willson Contreras homered to end the Red Sox's 26-inning scoreless streak in the postseason, according to the AP. The Yankees then scored six runs in the sixth inning. [5]

The inning began when Spencer Jones reached base on a wild pitch while striking out, after a video review reversed the initial out call. Bellinger capped the inning with a three-run homer off Red Sox reliever Garrett Whitlock, putting New York ahead 8-1. [5][6]

Yankees starter Max Fried allowed three hits over six innings, struck out six and walked one, the AP reported. Fried and Game 1 starter Cam Schlittler combined to allow one run over 12 1/3 innings in the series. [5][6]
